Air compressors occupy an important position in industrial production. After a long period of shutdown and restart, in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment, to prevent malfunction or damage caused by operational errors, you need to do a comprehensive inspection and preparation work.
I. Appearance check
Clean surface
The surface of the air compressor is easy to accumulate dust, oil and so on. It is necessary to clean it and ensure that the radiator and air vents are clear.
Fastener inspection
Check the bolts and other fasteners in each part, such as the base, piping connections and other key parts should be checked to prevent loosening, because the vibration of the equipment may cause loosening.
Cable wiring check
Check the power cable, control lines have no damage, aging, whether the terminals are firm, to ensure that the electrical system is safe and reliable.
Second, the lubrication system check
Oil level check
After a long period of downtime lubricant level may be reduced, need to check whether in the normal range. If it is too low, it is necessary to supplement the same type of lubricant in time.
Lubricating oil replacement (downtime for more than half a year)
If the compressor has been shut down for more than half a year, the lubricating oil may be deteriorated. It is recommended to replace the lubricating oil completely with new one and clean the oil circuit system to ensure the lubrication effect.
Oil filter inspection
Lubricating oil filter will accumulate impurities during use, check whether it is clogged after a long period of downtime, and replace it if necessary.
Third, the cooling system check
Cooler cleaning
The air-cooled or water-cooled cooler of the air compressor will accumulate dust or scale after a long period of downtime, which will affect the heat dissipation. To clean its surface to ensure good heat dissipation.
Cooling Fan Inspection
Check whether the cooling fan blades are intact, whether the rotation is flexible, and whether the motor is working normally. If the fan has abnormal noise or is stuck, it should be repaired or replaced in time.
Cooling water system check (water-cooled air compressor)
For water-cooled air compressor, check whether the cooling water pipeline is smooth, whether the water pump is working properly, and whether the water quality meets the requirements. If necessary, clean the water-cooled system to ensure the cooling effect.
Fourth, the air system check
Air intake filter check
After a long period of downtime, the air intake filter may accumulate dust and affect the efficiency of air intake. Should be removed to check and clean, if necessary, replace the new filter.
Piping valve inspection
Check the air compressor intake pipeline, exhaust pipeline and the valves for leakage and blockage to ensure that the air system is smooth.
Air storage tank inspection
Gas storage tank is an important part, after a long period of downtime to check whether the internal water, rust and corrosion, etc., if necessary, clean up maintenance.
V. Electrical system check
Motor insulation test
After a long period of downtime motor insulation may decline, with megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the motor to ensure compliance with safety standards. If it is too low, drying treatment or replacement of the motor is required.
Control panel check
Check whether the controller function is normal, whether the key or touch function is intact, whether each indicator, button, meter is normal, to ensure the normal operation of the control system.
Power supply voltage check
Before restarting, check whether the power supply voltage is stable and meets the rated voltage requirements of the equipment to prevent unstable voltage damage to the equipment.
Preparation work before test run
Manual disc car
Before the official start of the manual disc, check whether the host and motor rotation is flexible, there is no stagnation or abnormal noise, to avoid the mechanical jam caused by a long period of downtime.
Trial run
After confirming that all the checks are correct, carry out spot test run, i.e. start the compressor briefly to observe the running status, which will help to find out the potential problems and ensure the safe start-up.
Gradual loading
After the air compressor starts normally, load it gradually, don't load it fully at one time, and let all the parts of the equipment adapt to the running state gradually to reduce the mechanical shock.
Precautions
Follow the operating procedures
When checking and starting the air compressor, operate according to the instruction manual and the rules of equipment management to prevent damage to the equipment or injury by misoperation.
Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance is required even if the machine is shut down for a long time to ensure that the equipment is in good condition and to avoid malfunctioning when it is idle for too long.
Record work
Detailed records of the results and measures during the inspection and maintenance process are convenient for tracking the equipment status in the future and solving the problems in time.
Comprehensive inspection and preparation work is indispensable before restarting the air compressor which has been shut down for a long time. Through the above aspects of the inspection and preparation can effectively avoid equipment failure, prolong the service life.
